Diary of a Dominatrix + Nothing But Loving You + Monstress (13 points)

Diary of a Dominatrix by Molly Kiely has to be the strangest but the most informational piece i've read so far. I should have expected this to be detailed but i wasn't expecting what i've read. I wish i could just be like “oh yes i'll use this information in daily life” but i'm not that extra. Something that was a lot of fun to do was show this to my friends. I loved seeing their reactions that couldn't stay hidden behind a mask. Especially the ball stretcher! I was really laughing at how they ran away holding their crotches. Leading back to the comic story itself, it was a really relaxed way of describing how to be a dominatrix. Since there is normally such a stigma of women being in positions of dominance over men it was a great read to see how casually Molly talks about her experience/what to do. She is taking a big step to normalise what she does and I think it's definitely paid off. It's definitely way more accepted as well as the techniques have up...

Lackadaisy Cats (5 points)

       This week I read Lackadaisy Cats by Tracy Butler. I wasn't expecting a comic about cats in the 1920s but I'm glad this is a thing. It was a great read to learn about some of the anitics that could have happened when running an underground bootleg mission in St. Louis. As glamorous as the 20s are made to seem within most media i feel like this one felt more down to earth/more realistic. It seems light hearted and fun since the main character we follow most times is Rocky. He's very easy going about being in an illegal gang and supplying booze to people which was a mentality seemingly most have. He's there just to please Miss. M. or Mitzi May the leader of Atlus by the death of her husband. I really love how her character is slowly revealed by her own actions. She clearly cared about her husband but knows she needs a powerful man to help continue her business. She knows how to use her assets to get what she wants while relying on only a few trusted lackeys to ge...

The Killing Joke (2 points)

  The Killing Joke -  1. What is your reaction to the text you just read? I know little to nothing about the Marvel/DC superhero universes. I've truly only seen the Tobey Maguire spiderman series on top of random movies here and there. I've also watched Joker 2019. So Joker 2019/Spiderman are the only ones i have any relatively good knowledge of. I feel like both of these pieces of media both go into the reasons as to why they are who they are. The comic goes into more detail since it doesn't have any major restrictions. You almost start to feel bad for the Joker since he was created when he was the most mentaly broken. His wife dies with a baby randomly, the mob tricks him then he falls into radioactive goop that permanently deforms him all in an afternoon. This shift within the batman universe has definitely helped give depth to these normally good or bad heroes especially in this time period.
